Our focus is to provide professional development, technical assistance, and resources so that school districts can meet mandates and achieve goals related to student health and well-being.

ADA-PEP

This CoSer provides information, skill building, support, and growth opportunities to encourage individuals to adopt health-enhancing alternatives to substance abuse. ADA-PEP is committed to working with the schools, homes, and communities to assist individuals in reaching their potential as productive and contributing members of society.

New York State Youth Development Survey

In 2012 a team of agencies in Onondaga County sponsored the PRIDE NYS Youth Development Survey. Included items focused on alcohol and drug use by students in addition to other student behaviors, risk, and protective factors. A sample of districts representative of the county were included in the survey at the 7th, 9th, & 11th grade levels. The Dignity Act

This CoSer assists districts and schools in building a positive school climate through compliance with The Dignity for All Students Act and further compliance with the addition of cyber-bullying to the law in July 2013. In addition to providing specialized training for certain key positions, our service will support schools through an array of information, resources, and training.

Olweus

STOP BULLYING IN SCHOOLS! OCM BOCES has developed this CoSer, delivered by highly experienced nationally certified trainers who are dedicated to the prevention of bullying in schools. They use proactive efforts to create a better learning environment for students.

Healthy Schools NY

Increasing the number of schools that effectively implement policy, systems and environmental changes that promote the consumption of healthy foods and beverages, comply with state physical education regulations and expand opportunities to be physically active. HSNY is a grant initiative funded through the NYS Department of Health and has 18 regional programs across the state that provide technical assistance to school districts.
